It's very interesting, although I don't think it will affect the outcome here one way or another... it's just not going to be convenient or cost-effective enough for the vast majority of consumers...
Something WSJ didn't mention is that sometimes HD-DVDs are available in Europe for films currently in theaters in the US. I picked up both "Becoming Jane" and "Mr Bean's Holiday" on Amazon.co.uk for around $40 each including shipping. Cheaper than going to the movies with the family!
This data is cool to know in terms of purchasing titles on either format abroad before they are released in the states. Hollywood makes no sense sometimes.
