can someone post a dummies guide to using blindscan with skystar 2.3
i have 2 programs
bxs and another program i found..
seem to find a lot of stuff but the sr seems to be different....

example after scaning ia 6

1=10943,V,30031,0
2=10983,V,0,0
3=10996,V,0,0
4=11004,V,0,0
5=11072,V,0,0
6=11080,V,0,0
7=11333,V,22656,0
8=11795,V,30031,0
9=11848,V,0,0
10=11921,V,0,0
11=11929,V,0,0
12=12183,V,22656,0
13=10945,H,30031,0
14=10997,H,0,0
15=11333,H,22656,0

is this normal for numbers to be high... or am i doing something wrong.. missing some setting or what?

i am use to some high numbers but i would love to see some low numbers also..

newshound , love to find them newsfeeds..

Looks good, save as init file, then import into mytheatre and WATCH what you found.

Compare what you got from both programs.

Did you get SS2diseqc1.9 working?

not yet..

so it is normal to find signals w/ totaly different sr's and not find things that i already have in my list ..

is it common for the blindscan programs to find the same programs on multi transponders.. i seem to get the same thing 3 or 4 times....

You should get all active transponders. Yes, the SR and Freq may be different. I have gotten two identical programs on different transponders before.

Try both programs?

Well does the blind scan give you as many transponders as Lyngsat lists?

It could drop a few, which are weak. But you certainly should have all the strong transponders.

so far i can seem to find some known signals but not all the time..

I am starting to think this card is not all its cracked up to be .. and thinking about put it up for trade..
think a real recvr with blind scan may do me better

Well , you can start with the TP's on lyngsar & then blind scan . On my Ultra , the blind scan does not delete to the TP's already in memory , only adds any new ones it finds . Then , if you are in doubt , go back and sat scan the whole lists .

I have both the cards & 2 Ultras . Each has its place , but for blind scan , a receiver is the solution .

The sweet thing about doing the blind scan inside the PC, is that you can create a new satellite init file and import it into your favorite dvb program.

I have three of the version 2.3 cards, and the only transponders they miss are the one which I can't receive.
