You need special software, don't now exactly what software that is but several on this forum have it, thats how they can tell!

TSReader and a 8PSK tuner is one way.

Or ask Dish to disclose bitrates logs for the channel(s).

You also need a modified receiver, so you can get it to work with that software...

Does this show the compressed or uncompressed bit rate? With both mpeg2 and mpeg4 stations this makes a big difference.

It shows the streams in the mux. Which is the compressed form.
