Anyone else lose the Bio Channel? I get the message Channel error, I checked on 2 different dishes and 2 different boxes and I get the same message.

Yep it is gone; for now at least. They may be making some repairs, there was a couple of other channels reported to be on last night, today they're scrambled back. Stay tuned.

Biography was still gone around lunch time though, from 101. Haven't been back in to check until just now.

The channel was pulled for a reason, either technical or pressure from the top. It still has audio on the encrypted version so they are still transmitting it to ones that are suppose to get it. I know that everyone loves these freebee's but honestly they were not meant to be there. They are only there by someones good graces , The only way to insure any subscription based channel always is to pay the piper. I know many don't want to hear that but it is reality and we have to accept it. Never get too attached to something ITC since when it disappears its harder to accept. The fun is having it when we can.

I'm preparing for the inevitable. I purchased a refurbished WD HD TV Live Plus (whew! That was a mouthful!) gadget.
I had a miserable, miserable time running a network wire to it but I managed in the end. It's not a pretty installation but I'm too tired to care right now. It works..
It does Netflix and Hulu and a few other things. I'm pretty disappointed in the lack of features, I would have thought it would be more flexible.
I want to be able to enter the Whitesprings.tv link into it and save that as a favorite that I can bring up and watch anytime I wish. It doesn't seem to allow you to do that. You can watch only what they want you to watch. Online at least. And there are NO women's channels in the online channels!
And one of the radio station apps, it only shows you religious and C&W radio stations! What the heck??
It has Pandora but you have to pay. Most of the apps it has baked in are pay to use. The youtube app only plays the low-res videos, it will not play HD vids.
But, it does see the files on my pc and it plays back recordings quite nicely.
But, I want more out of this thing. So while I was googling on how to make it play Whitesprings I discovered that people hack these things to do all sorts of new things. Well guess what?! That's riiiiiiiiiiiiight! I hacked my iPhone (JB/Unlock) so I don't see why I can't hack this thing too! I'm reading up on it first and will take a few weeks to research it before I make a move on it.
But back to Bio in the black. That's a major bummer. I hope it comes back like the other one did. But if it doesn't or even worse, if History goes away, I'm working on a Plan B.

You know if you really want it that bad, just get cable or DBS. The Hotel Networks feed was never meant for those of us that are into FTA. As has been said before, you should never get to "attached" to a feed that is meant to be scrambled.
Dee, I love my 3 WDTV Live boxes. They play just about any media you throw at them, including rather high bitrate MPEG-4 HD, without flinching.
I don't use the apps regularly, but I've been satisfied with YouTube performance (it will play back HD, maybe you need a firmware upgrade?)...

I pay the piper every time I buy products that are advertised on TV........... Why should I buy a ..... let's say a six pack, pay for it, then pay for each beer again as I open them? All stations that have commercials are getting paid for! That is how the system was set up! What we see today is simply greed. Satellite time was getting paid for long before the pizza dishes came about so that takes the air out of that excuse for paying for TV. HBO, Showtime, Cinemax, ect. ect. are commercial free. I totally understand paying for that. But commercial television? give me a break! They have turned into thieves and redirect money to channels that have no reason being on the air. I could come up with "the paint drying channel" and make money from the redistribution of other subbed channels funds. Just my humble opinion...... Have a great day!

I totally agree with you but unfortunately the model is accepted by millions and they pay dearly. I don't mind paying a low cost but what these pizza and cable providers want per month for their mainstay packages is crazy. Thats why I have c band and 4DTV, Choice
I wouldn't give up on Bio just yet. It's ITC cousin went through a period that made us all wonder too. But it came back. There's no way to know if this will turn out like that or not. But there is that thing in the other ITC channels "history" that gives some hope.
If they end up with a pic from the beach again, maybe this time they could pick something better to look at than the last guy, lol.

I finally set up a dish with a better shot at 101 and both of the bio channels scan in but they are black.
I just got through talking to my dad on the phone a while ago and he brought up the Bio channel issue. I explained to him what happened recently with History and the old man on the beach and told him not to sweat it just yet. He said it's not a big deal because 98% of the time the stuff they air is BS but on rare occasion they have something worth watching like an actual BIOGRAPHY on someone..
I told him just be happy that he still gets the History channel which sometimes show history stuff.
Dad wants REAL history, not pawn shop history. LOL!!
