Big 10 channel launches sept 1 0n channel 220

got the latest newsletter last night from the big ten network will luanch aug 30 at 7 pm central time and directv will lcarry on channel 220.

the press release also confirmed that directv has agreed to carry any spill over games each week. while i didn't read any specifc info about directv carrying the hd games, the press release did say that the majority of games will broadcast in hd.

only at&t, beside directv, has committed to carry the channel nationally.

I think there is another thread around here talking about some of this as well, I too got that email and sent one back tothem asking if D* channel 220 was going to indeed be the location for the HD version.
Waiting for the reply (it was only yesterday) .
I noticed that it mentioned that a good majority of it will be in HD.

I kinda figured that the set up / control rooms would have already been completed, but I guess not !

Studio Update
Network's technical facilities approaching completion


Construction of the Big Ten Network's studio and technical facilities are nearly complete. The 40,000 square-foot space in downtown Chicago is scheduled to be fully functional by August 10. Big Ten Network will set a new standard for high-definition programming. The vast majority of the network's programming schedule will be carried in HD.
