BEV dish pointing/different skews

Like many people here, I'm having trouble getting both 91 and 82.

I found 91 locked at 83%, directly hooked up to the receiver. But when I go to check 82, (after hooking up SW21 and running Check Switch) it says "Wrong Sat BEV 91" Does this mean I'm pointing to BEV 91 with the 82 LNB? If so, then I should be able to move the whole dish to the right (or left?), pick up 91 again with the 91 LNB and have 82 fall in the right spot, correct?

Is it possible to get the 91 satellite in more than one location? It seems I can pick it up with a separate dish farther to the right in the sky.

My other question is about the skew figure. I use the number generator at KuSAT, and I get a skew of 100.2; I use the generator at http://www.sadoun.com/Sat/Installation/Satellite-Heading-Calculator.htm
and I get a skew of 102.9 for the combined 91-82 satellite entry of 86.5, but then if I put the 91 entry in, I get a skew of 107.1 -- that's a pretty big jump.

I'm at zip code 12932.

I'm getting a little frustrated after three days of it.

Any help would be appreciated

From what you have stated and I had to take a first guess - which is only a starting point - but it sounds like you have a Dish 500 quad with a built in SW21. Either you are really pointed at 91 and 100 and it is giving you the 91 signal on both or that somehow the extra SW21 you insert is throwing the 91 signal down both legs.

If could be something else, but that is the first thing that comes to mind given the limited info you provided.

As for the other:

Looks like a skew of 98.5 and 107.1 to me....with 102.9 as the center.

Thank you HDTVFanAtic,

I don't think I have what you mentioned (I'm not sure I completely understand what you mentioned). I've got what came out of the BEV 6120 box and I've been trying to hook it up according to the accompanying directions.

I think, though, I have been defeated. I've got the 6120-supplied dish on 91 and I've even tried using a second dish to find 82, but to no avail. I'm going to have to call in a pro installer, if I can find one down here who can/will hook up to sats 91 and 82 for me.

:(

thanks to everyone in the forum who has tried to help. Three days out in 10 degree (F) weather is enough for me.

thanks again.

Sounds like you are are picking up 91 on the 82 LNB. I would suggest, only hooking up the 91 LNB, get the signal (of course setting up skew etc.) and then add your 82. There should be no issues doing it that way.

Can brokers order PPV?

Illegal? Has something changed?
