What's the best free program out there for converting .cda files to mp3? Thanks.

You mean ripping CDs? Windows Media Player or Winamp or hell even iTunes (assuming it rips to MP3) will probably be sufficient.

There's really no such filetype as *.cda. It's a virtual file designation that Windows displays. WMP will play audio CDs just fine, of course.
