I know that this has been addressed before, but what is the best HD receiver out there today....The company tha I am dealing with possibly suggested the Samsung 360. Any suggestions?
I don't know much about the 360 other than what I've read elsewhere. I ended up going with the Hughes HTL-HD. Seems the picture quality on the 360 may be a bit better than the HTL-HD according to some reports, but also, the boxes seem to have more issues, and it's about a 1 in 5 chance you have a bad one out of the box. Again, this has been gathered from elsewhere, (avsforum, circuit city reviews, etc) I'm very happy with teh HTL-HD though, and think I went with the right choice. Oh, supposedly the HTL-HD will pick up locals better than the 360 as well. No caller-id with the Hughes, but that wasn't really a drawing point anyway. I want to watch TV, not be bugged by who is calling the wife
The best I have yet seen, and by a wide margin, is the HD TiVo.
We get OTA channels we didn't think possible with it, and its D* reception is great, too.
Oh, and its a TiVo!
