I just bought about 8 days ago two 30" HDTV sets in store. I just noticed on their website that the product has been reduced by 325 bucks each for a total of 650 bucks. I went down to Best Buy in Clearwater and asked to have them price match from their own website price and they said they wouldn't price match their own site. What is even more amazing is that they tell me to avoid this in the future that I could order online and select store pickup and if the website price went lower they would price match. They also said if I ordered it online and had it shipped they would price match if their website price went down.

Now because these TVs aren't heavy and their receipt says I won't have a restocking fee I'm packing these TVs up and will demand gift cards to be issued and I will go online and order two more TV sets and pick them up at a different store at the lower price and get an extra 10 days on price matching.

I just couldn't believe the Bullsh!t I was hearing from this guy and how their system works.

I just found their policy on their website if anyone wants to read it.

So buy it online, do a store pickup, wait 5 minutes, then return it under the store receipt. Case solved, and you learned your lesson about why you never shop at Best Buy and their policies.

I worked in interpreting government regulations for 23 years.

Sounds like them. No common sense.

I got two Samsung 32" Widescreen LCD TVs which were 2624.99 each and they dropped down to 2299.99 each which is the pricematch I wanted. I will get much more back via my credit card on this but I like this set quite a bit.

The model is LNR328W just for your information.

(This was typed by Scott on his Wife's PC...)

Im off to Best Buy now, my main PC died.

Its a Medion 5100 Composer 3.0 Ghz machine. Woke up this morning and had no video on the screen. I suspect it's the video card. Because before I shut it down I was able to click on things on the desktop and hear the beeps, and also hear the email notifications.

This thing is under warranty from Best Buy for a year so now I need to take it to them to look at. :(

i will be in the market for a tv hopefully in the next couple of weeks. i have been looking at the new samsung 1080p 61 inch through avs power buy.

if i don't get that and use best buys website, do i have to pay sales tax?

If Best Buy has a store in your state, then, yes, you will pay sales tax.

That would work if the units are not identified with serial number on the ticket. Screaming complaining going to BBB and AGs sometimes works wonders. Newspaper editorials help. Remember that predatory stores like Wally world and Best Buy want everyones business and don't understand the meaning of service. We're gullable so that's where we shop. The amazing thing is that you will always pay too much, if you buy from these guys, and don't give your local dealer a chance.

As Eric Cartman would say: Best Buy Sucks ASS!!! I HATE that place! Their pricing policies suck and most (not all) of their employees will screw you every chance they get.

I would have never bothered with Best Buy if I didn't have two 500 dollar gift cards. My credit card also gives me 10% cash rebate along with air miles that will end up getting me one free first class ticket so I can visit one of my relatives. Now as you might know from my previous posts I'll be pissing off my credit card company by paying off the entire balance at the end of the month. They just don't make money on me that is for sure. I don't pay an annual fee nor do I pay interest.

I usually wait until just after a Best Buy sale when I get my 10% BB coupons in the mail (always just after BB raises the price back to normal). Then head to Sears and they'll have the BB sale price still in their computer for price-matching. Then just show them the 10% coupon and they'll take it off. ;)

I believe I went to the Best Buy you are talking about - on RT19 just off Gulf to Bay where all the construction is. (By the Phillies training camp)

I asked about this after reading your thread. He said the problem is, often the price drop is after a rebate has expired. Expired meaning the date to buy the item with the rebate is over, but there is still time to send in the rebate. Either their own rebate or the manufacturer's is often subsidized by Best Buy, as is the lower price sometimes. So when they drop the price, it is instead of the rebate - not in addition to it. So they made a blanket rule that the item with or without a rebate must be returned and resold at the lower price but with a date past the possible rebate expiration. Since you usually have to send in the bar code from the carton they will know if the rebate has been used. That is the explantion I got............
But then how does that explain they will price match if you bought from them online???

Is anyone a member of Best Buy Rewards Card ?

Yep...I am. I got it when I bought my Westinghouse LCD. The reward coupons for that purchase were a good bit more than the cost of the signup.
