Hiyall...Im getting my refund from dear ol Uncle Sam...and I am just about to put in my drywall for my basement. I'm finishing up running the neccressary cables and whatnots. I already have 3 cables run from the dish into my basement and clear across to my breaker box where the grounding is set up. Then those 3 additional cables after the grounding goes to their respective tv/recievers.
Bear with me on this ok? I am going to run a 4th cable out to the dish, but not hook it up to the dish but cut off the connection and tape it up and leave it inside the mast for future hookups. The other end of that 4th cable is gonna go behind my basements dividing wall..up to my living room where my current 501 is now. You will never see the 4th cable coming in from dish to the living room tv since it ll be drywalled up and the same goes from living room tv to basement tv since the cable will be pulled behind the dividing wall and connected to the new drywall for a nice look in the new living room. I used to have a 522 and that had to have 2 satellite signal cables to it. When I get my basement done and when I get my big bonus this coming Christmas or when a helluva deal comes along..Im buying a 42 incher LCD tv, and at that point I will upgrade to 622 HD or whatever is the "NEW" thing at the time.

I have 2 questions: Will it be too much of a big hassle since 1 cable goes from dish..to grounding block, then back up to living room tv..while the 2nd cable comes directly from the dish up to the living room with or without future grounding connections in the future..would that be a big hassle for the installer when doing the 622?
2nd question: What is the BEST hookup from the 622 to the LCD? I tried to do a search on this, but it seems like I just dont understand it fully. Keep in mind..if it is anything other than a cable hookup, I will need to drill holes thru the carpet/floor behind my big kickazz entertainment center to fish the other suggested cables down thru to my LCD. The LCD is gonna be directly underneath where my current upstairs living room TV is now.

Thank you for takin the time to read this. Have yourself a good day!

1. The ground needs to be shorter than any run to a receiver.

2. The problem with the "best" hookup is a bit complicated. The easiest is a HDMI cable. (go to www.monoprice.com to get one of sufficient length without having to buy KY jelly 1st!) The problem is that there is a known design defect with the 622 and 211 receivers. Many owners state that the HDMI will work for a period of a few weeks to a few months. Dish customer service will say it's a "firmware problem" but the truth is the board is seated too close to the bottom of the chasis putting pressure on the solder joints eventually leading to failure of the HDMI port.

Here is a page where another member resoldered the HDMI after it died.

Component is pretty bullet proof, problem is you need to run 5 cables, (RGB Video and L+R audio) to the TV.

Ever see the movie Catch-22?
