I should receive my fta receiver, DiSEqC Switch 4x1, motor and star choice 75e dish this week and want to start the installation this weekend, but I have a question.

I also subscribe to Bell Expressvu and have their dish which sees 81 and 92. I have a 9200 receiver which needs both feeds that come from the legacy twin.

What i want, is to somehow have both the expressvu feed and fta feed going into my fta receiver (pansat 2800).

How can i split the 9200 signal to goto the diseqc switch? Or can I?

I also have an dual lnb that I guess i could attach to the star choice quad, but I thought since i have a dedicated expressvu set up, maybe i can tie in there to always see what is free on those sats.

Thanks for the help.

Why would you want the expressvu signals going into your fta receiver? If you subscribe wouldnt you get whatever is "free" on the bell receiver?

Well yeah, I get what I subscribe too, but I read on other sites for example, when they added the NFL network. It was up free for a month before me as a sub got it free on a free preview. Would like it set up to see what's coming soon, I guess.

other than a couple slate channels there really isnt anything on 91. 82 has no FTA channels except for the HD promo channel but you need a HD reciever for it

Yeah, I sub to most of the HD at the moment.

I just thought it would be good to set up in case there was a new channel uplinked but not available to subs. Like NFL Network, GolTV were for a while before I (subs) could get a free preview.

I guess maybe a better bet is to attach my spare Expressvu LNB to the Star Choice one for the best of both worlds out there. Can't remember the last time I saw the NASA channel. I believe it is still free on the Dish Network Sat.

Can't wait to start my new hobby.

Plus, the FTA receiver won't talk to the legacy twin LNB.

Here's a pretty good list of what you'll find with a circular LNB.

Oh ok. Didn't know that the FTA Receiver won't work with the LNB. Nevermind my question then. hehe.

Is it just the TWIN LNB, or all DVB lnb's wont work with my pansat?

all fta ird's should be able to use the legacy dishnet lnb. if its dishpro then most should be able to use it, but not all. if its dishproplus then I doubt many if any could talk to it.

thing is there isnt anything worth watching in truefta on 82/91

terminology

The first picture is a TWIN
Has ability to receive two satellites in the one enclosure
Has internal switching -
- legacy model isn't usually controllable by much but a Dish receiver
- Dish Pro model is diseqc compatible, and can be controlled easily by most everything.

The second picture is a regular Dish LNB with two outputs.
It comes in two flavors -
- if legacy it can be connected to FTA receivers with 22khz or diseqc switches
- if DishPro, it can be connected using 22khz or diseqc switches.

For DishPro LNBs, the receiver must know how to talk to band-stacked LNBs which don't use 13/18 volts for V/H switching.
To my knowledge, BEV doesn't sell DishPro LNBs of any sort.
Or if they have started, they will be far less common than legacy.
DishPro always have a prominent dp logo on them, as shown on the right picture.
If it doesn't clearly say DishPro, it isn't!
...and as mentioned above, if it's DishPro PLUS, steer clear - high current consumption and compatibility problems.

For single circular LNB usage, DirecTV and Dish legacy are interchangable.

Correct that Expressvu doesn't use the Twin. I bought the Legacy TWIN off ebay. At the time it was that or the SW44, and the twin is alot cleaner of an install.

I'm sorry, I missed the part in your post about having a twin. I read the part about you having a Vu dish and (op's!) assumed you were using legacy duals.
