I am kind of a newbie to this so please be patient, I have a question about setting up a bell4100 reciever, can I just run a direct cable from one side of a dual transponder on the dish to the reciever without using a switch, while the other side of the transponder is being used for another HD reciever that is using a switch. from what I understand is that you can only get signals from the one sat. not both because it isnt an HD reciever. is that true? I have benn looking on the forum but cannot find anything on this.

Thanks

Well hopefully by transponder you actually mean LNBF......lol

If I read between the lines I think you have a DPP Twin LNBF, with 1 line feeding an HD PVR (9241, 9242 or 9400), at the rear of this receiver you have a DPP Separator (not considered a switch).

So the short answer if I am correct is yes, just run another line from the OUTPUT Port on the DPP Twin, to the 4100 (The DPP Twin has an INPUT port, do not use that). There are 2 ports side by side, those are the OUTPUT ports.

You will get signals from BOTH 91 & 82 of the 4100. There are lots of ethnic channels on 82 in SD.

After installation you must got into MENU, 6, 1, 1 and run a Check Switch, this is so the Receiver can learn just what kind of LNBF etc it is connected to. The DPP Twin LNBF has a multiswitch, built into the LNBF, so if you are only running 2 Receivers, no other switch is required.
