Beefy Shingles

This morning I came across the thickest shake shingle roof I'v seen . Some of the shingles were up to 2" thick. Made for a beautiful and sturdy to walk on roof.

Built in 2004. Kind of an English Tudor style 8,500 sf. A whole lotta roof there.

If you live in an area that, even remotely, is prone to wildfire, wooden shake shingles are the least preferred rooftop. Of course, as has been proven recently locally, even tile roofs won't stop a hot one....

I did that earth sheltered, on 24 hour shifts. They were called missile silos. Of course wildfire was not even a thought in the New Mexican desert!

At 1st glance I thought the title said "Beefy Singles". Thought to myself it must be some new dating site.
