I've used Android and iOS and thinking about Blackberry for my next device. Wondering can it run android apps such as google maps etc... I've heard great things about Blackberry recently. What are some great things it can do?

The only reason to really use a BB device now is if your company uses it for mail services. Otherwise both iOS and Android run circles around it.

I've read a lot of good reviews on the latest one that verizon carries but that was people who were tired of iOS and Android.

That is BB's problem now. They could put out a stellar device, but the after market no longer caters to BB. If it is not running iOS or Android, there will not be any third party apps developed for it.
