Any thoughts or opinion on this show? My mom told me to check this one out (she also recommended Dexter and The Walking Dead) so I guess I'll give it a try since I have the infrequently used Cinemax channel in my lineup.
Not quite Justified, but if you like one, try the other. http://www.epguides.com/Banshee/
Hell of a kick-ass show!
. "A ruthless Ukrainian gangster hunts his former top thieves: a woman living in the small Pennsylvania town of Banshee under a fake identity, married to the District Attorney, and her former partner, a recently-paroled master thief who assumes the identity of the town's new sheriff."

I did scroll back through the postings and did not see this series listed.

I would swear I already commented favorably on this series!
Perhaps I overlooked this existing thread (if so, please merge them).

I was a big Dexter fan, but couldn't stand Walking Dead.
Banshee is more similar in my mind to "Justified".
If you enjoyed J, then B might suit you.
.
I was pretty happy with the first episode, but by the third I was hooked.
There's a lot of good @$$ kicking, which added a bit of humor to the stark drama.
The story continues.
I just have to decide whether to watch it weekly, or save it up and marathon the episodes.
.
This is a continuous story like a book, all interlinked.
The typical police drama or sitcom is more disposed to weekly viewing, where the story completes by the end of the hour.
Here, when one episode is over, you -need- to see the next one.
LOS ANGELES, Jan. 30, 2014 – CINEMAX has renewed the Emmy®-winning hit action series BANSHEE for a third season, scheduled to debut in 2015, it was announced today by Kary Antholis, president, HBO Miniseries and CINEMAX Programming. The show is currently in its second season, with episodes debuting Fridays at 10:00 p.m. (ET/PT).
I love this show. It's plot line totally stupid but the fight scenes and gratuitous nudity make it a fun show for me to watch. It's great to see a fight scene where Sheriff Hood gets beaten up almost as bad as the guy he's fighting, complete with lots of blood and bone crunching noises, and shows up for work the next day with only a few small bruises. These people have quick recovery genes.
'Banshee' Caps Off Sophomore Run With Cinemax Record
Banshee hit a first-run (and network) record on Friday with its sophomore finale. 733,000 viewers tuned into the 10 p.m. telecast, besting the previous high by 142,000. The most-watched original episode for any Cinemax series to date.
Question: Got any Banshee Season 3 scoop you can share?
Ausiello: As if the twin threats of Chayton and Proctor weren’t enough to keep Lucas up at night, the Cinemax hit is throwing another antagonist his way. I can exclusively confirm that The Newsroom‘s David Harbour (pictured, right) is joining Season 3 in the recurring role of Dalton, a ghost from Lucas’ past who runs a black ops outfit. He’s been pursuing Lucas for years and, like a good hunter, does not easily abandon his prey.
Ausiello: The American Horror Story vet plays Robert Philips, an FBI agent who is sent to investigate Agent Racine’s disappearance. As of now he’s booked for one episode, but I have to imagine there will be more. It’s Denis O’Hare, for chrissakes!
Any scoop on what’s coming up for Banshee‘s Lucas and Siobhan?
What’s coming up is… the Cinemax series’ next episode. “You won’t want to miss tomorrow night’s episode,” EP Greg Yaitanes hints. “Their kiss last week was just the beginning….”
