Bally Sports RSNs Are Reportedly Preparing For Bankruptcy

Lol! They still haven't pulled the plug on Bally Sports San Diego, although ever since it lost its only team, the Padres, to the MLB, it's literally now just a simulcast of Bally Sports SoCal (including the Clippers & Ducks games) with the only differences being national filler instead of infomercials in the morning and no Orange Co. SC USL soccer.

AZ Coyotes games on 15-2 in Phoenix (Scripps owns the station). Subchannel of the ABC affiliate. Hopefully Scripps upgrades it to HD ;)

Who will air the D-backs games?

Bally’s Arizona has been shut down, not a surprise since the Hockey team was the only thing left on there.

No one here cares about hockey, that team might as well not exist. They're in an argument with the City of Glendale over the stadium, so they threatened to move to Tempe. A referendum went on the ballot to build them a stadium in Tempe (keep in mind the Glendale one isn't old) and it failed in spectacular fashion.

We already know the answer to that.

The MLB.

Or more specifically, airing blackout-free on MLB.TV (except for when they're playing on ESPN Sunday Night), and being distributed to providers within D-Backs territory. DirecTV Satellite has them on 686-3, Comcast has them on 1261, Cox has them on their various YurView channels in the territory, Spectrum has them on a channel in either the 300s or 400s depending on service area. Fubo and DirecTV Stream also have them as well.

Considering how much Diamond needs DirecTV so to come out of bankruptcy, do they really want to piss DirecTV off.

Since DirecTV is losing 1.5-2 million subs a year , would they lose more if they got rid of Diamond?

Dish does not carry them, so all that is left is cable.

That suit won't hold up. Diamond/Bally broke their own contract by not airing Padres and Diamondback games.
I agree, but not to my point.

They (Diamond) need to be able to tell the judge, yes we have a agreement beyond next year ( when the contract between Diamond and DirecTV is up), if they keep peeving DirecTV off and they tell Diamond get bent, they have no way to be profitable without those per sub fees.

DirecTV knows they will carry the local teams no matter what, if the leagues put out something or if they are carried via local channels.

Looks like that's all she wrote for Bally Arizona. Officially shut down.
Soon to be the rest of them, I read they have burned thru 90% of the cash on hand, even if they make it out of bankruptcy, where are they going to get a fresh influx of money?

It is obvious that the per sub fees they are receiving now is not enough to sustain them or they would have more cash on hand.

cash is definitely tight. I read earlier that they are cutting the amount of camera operators at Blues games to 2. if they're at the point of trying to save a thousand bucks a game, it's bad.

Are you saying they pulled the plug completely on the feed?
Not yet. But soon

Seeing reports froM Xfinity customers saying their BSAZ feed has already been cut pff.
Only a matter of time it looks like before other providers, including D*, follow suit as well

KNXV already has two HD signals, the main 15.1 ABC channel and 61.1 KASW CW ATSC 1.0 simulcast. So chances of upgrading 15.2 to HD are slim-to-none because of bandwidth limitations.
