OK so it was testing fine before, now today I goto 499 and it says they are not connected! What is going on?

I just tried it on mine and it had the normal "searching for satellite" message. Maybe an issue with yours?

Just talked to Directv and evidently with the HR20 (100 manufacturer) this is a software issue and should not be a problem when the new channels are turned on. I guess I'll see if and when that happens.

With our H20 upstairs it is still testing fine.

Both my -100 and -700 has reported looking for sat and the BBC screen. It goes back and forth every day. So I dont know if its bad BBC or the test really isnt that accurate. I have 5 BBC's and swapped them around and it same results. I do know all of them work on the H20.

I'm thinking the test in not accurate .

That said, On channel 499 I get the "Searching for signal " everytime now.

I just got the call from D* CSR asking me if 499 was coming in, or was I seeing a message. I am all set each time I tune to 499. How ad is it that we check 499 on a daily basis? :)

I know that when E* started carrying Discovery in HD, suddenly the "HD" code showed up in my EPG and on the INFO screen for my recordings of Mythbusters, etc, even though it was still NOT in HD. What I would like to see is D* somehow filter that "HD" code so that it only appears on the channels they offer in HD so I don't get my hopes up that they made the switch and just didn't tell anyone. And then when we do see the HD Icon, we know that it is now in HD.

Glad its not just me.

vurbano,
Have you called to have them send you any spare B-Band converters to see if it is a bad converter ?

I've ordered them 3 times on the website. I think an email confirmation was supposed to come but nothing. I tried different emails too. Did folks need the email confirmation for the order to happen?

It only happened one day after I reset the reciever. I called D* and got caught in that stupid "lets test your system" phone jail and hung up. I reset the reciever a couple of times more and it has been ok so far. Really strange. I do think its a software bug. I swear I am snakebit. It was a real issue for me until I had a repair man out for a small shadow appearing on the right of my 56" 1080p Sammy DLP. He took my set and it wont be back for 7-14 days. (LMAO, this stuff is addictive, Ive thought of calling rentacenter!) So the b band converters are not a big issue right now, neither is the Dish realignment appointment I just rescheduled until near the end of the month. FK it, Im just going to have a beer and see what happens. See if I get the channels or not. The viewing experience is just kinda lame on my old fkd up 47" 3 gun CRT RPTV that probably costs as much to fix as it does to buy new.

Brewer,
I never got the ones that I ordered on the website either.
I called the phone center and they had them to me in 2-3 days.

That was just plain rude for the guests to refuse to let the homers be victorious. :D

And come to think of it, UConnvict was also pretty rude today, too.
