Autobytel Vehicle Research and Buying Channel Available to 12 Million Web Users Via Synacor ISP Clients

IRVINE, Calif. & BUFFALO, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 3, 2005--Autobytel Inc. (Nasdaq:ABTL - News), a premier online automotive car buying and research destination, has partnered with Synacor, the leading provider of technology supporting the delivery of combined bundled online services, to offer Autobytel's leading automotive research and buying channel through Synacor's custom portal, which serves more than 12 million homes via a range of broadband access providers. Through the partnership, the Autobytel auto channel will be featured on the consumer portals of 17 broadband providers that utilize Synacor's menu of online services, including Adelphia.net.

The Autobytel channel empowers auto shoppers with in-depth pricing, ratings and specifications information covering every new car and light truck on the U.S. market. During their research and shopping process, web visitors can access expert and user vehicle reviews, best-in-class vehicle comparison and viewing tools, financing quotes, used car values and market pricing, and downloadable vehicle reports. Once they're ready to buy, shoppers can then submit a request to receive a no-haggle vehicle price quote from a local member of the company's nationwide network of automobile dealers.

"Our relationship with Synacor expands our efforts to bring the best automotive information and buying experience to millions more consumers across the Web, and to send motivated car buyers to our coast to coast dealer network," said Michael Rosenberg, Autobytel Inc. Senior Vice President, Media & Marketing Services. "Joining Synacor's roster of marquee online services further validates our leadership in online automotive content, tools and business generation, while increasing our marketing reach and value."

Rosenberg notes that Autobytel recently rolled out its program at ESPN.com and Bankrate.com, expanding a broad affiliate network that includes AOL, Earthlink, Yahoo! and Viacom, among other top-line Web destinations. Autobytel's consumer sites -- Autobytel.com, Autoweb.com, Car.com, Carsmart.com, Autoahorros.com and CarTV.com -- attract millions of unique visitors each month, generating billions of dollars for car dealers. As a result of its affiliate marketing and other aggressive marketing programs, it's estimated that every 7.4 seconds a consumer requests a vehicle through Autobytel.

Synacor's platform enables ISPs to offer their subscribers customized subscription tiers featuring the Internet's most comprehensive selection of premium and basic content with the added benefits of a single sign-on and integrated monthly billing at an affordable price point.

"The addition of Autobytel to our portals confirms our commitment to deliver great value to our customers," said Drew Buckley, Synacor Vice President of Business Development. "Our new automotive offerings powered by Autobytel's family of sites now give us the opportunity to provide our customers with direct access to the most comprehensive consumer resources for vehicle research."
