Auto Expanding SD Picture

I don't know what's going on with our SD channels tonight. We were watching the Caps game and all of a sudden the picture stretches taking part of the picture off the screen. We unplugged the receiver and it didn't make a difference. We checked the TV settings and tried a DVD and it's not the TV. Even is we set the TV to 4:3, the picture stretches.

Anyone else experience this?

Or the TV, when you tried a DVD you were also using a different input on the TV.
