ATV Signals

On Dr. Dish last night they talked about how to receive FTA ATV signals using an old analog receiver. I found it interesting and would like to start experimenting.

Does anyone here already receive these additional FTA signals and if so how do you like it?

I have one of those 1.2 Ghz spybug cams and it's signal showed up on the analog Uniden receiver. I disabled the voltage coming out of the receiver and hooked up a small antenna (tuned for that range) and it worked rather well. I was very satisfied.

Preamp is recommended along with the ability to disable the voltage coming out from the receiver. I also recommend an outdoor 1.2 Gig antenna that picks up from all directions.
