The "proponents" are insane. Given how few TVs support NextGen TV broadcasts, they're cutting off their noses to spite their face. How are they going to reconcile the licensing required for the mandate?

Nothing they do is going to make them competitive with Google or Facebook in terms of advertising exposure.

The one bright spot that I can get behind is that the streaming services be required to negotiate with the affiliates rather than the networks. I'm not convinced that the networks are sharing the spoils with the affiliates fairly and that doesn't effectively encourage the affiliates to make their programming the best it can be.

Lon's point about restrictions on NextGen TV recording must NOT be ignored.
