AT&T lower off-contract pricing and revamped Mobile Share plans launch next week

It is interesting that you save $15/month/phone once the phone is off contract. While the subsidy is probably closer to $20+/month for something like the iPhone, AT&T dropping the monthly rate could actually save AT&T money by having customers not feeling compelled to run out and get a new phone.

If someone is paying $10 for the add on phone to the account and $20 for 300 mb or $30 for 2 GB, how will this affect the bill if they are not in a contract?

No contract, No comittment

Anyone with a single smart phone should really look what the AT&T MVNOs have for their new offerings.
These are unlimited talk, text, and data as listed:
= 2.5gb @ $45/mo from SmartTalk. (now with LTE)
= 500mb @ $30/mo from H2o.
(tip of the iceberg)
.
I can't speak for family plans; do your own math.

This is for the mobile share plans. A smart phone is $40 and a non smart phone is $20 per month while on contract, falling to $25 or $5 off contract. You buy the base unlimited call/text plus data part separate, the data is pooled between all the devices (like tablets for $10/month).
