AT&T activates new 4G LTE markets, expands coverage in others

Rockford, IL too... IDK why it's not announced yet but Ive been getting it all around town today.

Too bad they weren't expanding like this 12 months ago, but at least now they are a solid competitor to Verizon.

Coverage around here is pretty good, but I still get some 4G rather than LTE. But no complaints.

Actually, they were. Maybe not where it matters to you but it's a big country. The conversion to LTE has been going in stages where the backhaul was upgraded first. Then HSPA+ was installed to give customers faster service and provide a strong fallback system when LTE drops or isn't available. LTE started going live shortly after the first backhaul upgrades were done a couple of years ago.
