Aspect "stuck"...

Hey, this is probably a dumb question, but I just got Dish, and haven't had this problem before now.

I have a 811 reciever hooked to my HDTV via component, and up until this evening,I had no problems using the page up and page down bottons to change the ratio. But, this evening, I turned on the TV, and all the HD channels(OTA locals, and HD pack), now have black bars, and i am not able to change the aspect ratio. I am also not able to change the aspect ratio of the SD channels either...

I have tried a soft reboot(holding down the power button on the front of the reciever), but it did not change anything. Would doing a hard reset fix this?

On my 811 remote, the aspect ratio was controlled by the * (star) key. Give that a try.

That normally works too, but at the moment, neither method works.

When they are done watching the news, I'll try doing a hard reset, and see how that goes...

That happens to me once in a great while on my 921, it usually fixes itself overnight.

Haha, I'm an idiot...

I have the 811 hooked to my TV via component and composite, and early yewsterday, someone must have switched it to composite.

LOL, anyways, I am an idiot for not realizing it, but hey, it happens.
