The implications of this aren't clear.
The eternal optimists figure this means that the Moxi HD DVR is going to be given a big injection of resources to compete against TiVo and cable company DVRs. (Not even the eternal optimists are projecting that Arris will try to break through the obstructions that satellite providers have put in place.)
On the other hand, there is all the indications here that Arris just wanted the IP, and will likely pursue other offerings with it, such as networked DVR solutions and such.
