Apple Computer Inc., which expects its laptops to outsell its desktops sometime in the near future, on Tuesday added new 15-inch PowerBook G4 models to its lineup of wide-screen laptops.
"When we said last January that this would probably be the year of the notebook, it turns out we were right on target about what's going on,'' said Greg Joswiak, Apple's vice president of hardware product marketing. "This is the fastest growing segment of computing.''
Apple also introduced a wireless mouse and wireless keyboard at the show, which Joswiak said fits into the consumer trend toward portable computers because it allows laptops to be set up anywhere without plugging in wires
