AOL Red, America Online's service for teens, is presenting an new online series that is sort of a Club MTV for the broadband generation.
Starting this Friday, AOL Red will broadcast live from the Miami club Mansion, which was named People magazine's hottest Miami club and is often frequented by celebrities like Diddy and Gwen Stefani.
The new show, Red at Night, will stream live footage from Mansion on four Friday nights from midnight to 3 a.m. Besides this Friday Nov. 18, Red at Night will air on Dec. 2, Dec 9 and Dec. 16, with episodes being archived for fans to view on demand.
During the shows, teens will be able to listen to the club's famous DJ's while watching clubgoers dance via four webcams placed throughout Mansion. The footage will be streamed using a 30-second delay, and dancers will be viewed from afar, so that teens don't witness and drinking or scandalous behavior.
Sprite is Red at Night's official sponsor. Last year, AOL ran a test version of the show at New York's Suede sponsored by Dentyne.
