After 3 days of L band uplink, followed by 4 days of being switched off, then a week of S band downlink mode, the voice transponder on AO-51 will be switched back to V/U mode Monday. Also, for those with packet the PBBS will be turned back on for normal ops again. These modes should be in effect through the rest of the year. There isn't a schedule yet posted for January, but when it is, it will appear here:
These are the frequencies for the modes going in effect on Monday:
19 Dec
FM Repeater, V/U
Uplink: 145.920 mhz FM, 67 hz PL Tone
Downlink 435.300 mhz FM
9k6 Digital, V/U, PBP BBS (Pacsat Broadcast Protocol BBS)
Uplink: 145.860 mhz FM, 9k6 PBP Digital
Downlink: 435.150 mhz FM, 9k6 PBP Digital
This is a very easy satellite to work. On high elevation passes, it is not that uncommon to be able to work it on a quarter wave rubber duck outside! Please consult my other posts for more information on working the FM satellites for beginners.
