Did anybody have luck with the "MONSTER LC-101" LNBF which is a INVACOM QPH-031 clone???

I received one on Ebay even though the listing stated INVACOM! A while back someone was hoping to do a test and review on one of these "Monsters". I have been looking for more info on these but I can not find anything. The seller said that I could send it back (at my expense) and receive an INVACOM. The seller is in Canada and the shipping time is quite long by the time it goes through customs!

Should I tell him to "stick it" or am I stuck with it??? My wife told me to "stick it" ... outside and see what it does but then I would be stuck with it!!!

Anyone???... :what

Reminds me of what another member called it earlier today-"Scambay" !
Sorry you got took. I think I would contest the charge with the credit card issuer, and keep the clone until the seller sent me a prepaid box for it. If he advertised it falsely, especially.

Thanks!!!

I better get busy!!!... :mad::mad::mad:

The seller did state in an email to me that the "Monster" does pick up 118.8 which might be of some use to someone with an eyepatch!!! :down

well i thought that Brian said the #'s were close on the monster & invacom ?? if thats so then if you got it cheap enough then it s probably worth a try.

Thanks!!!

interesting considering the invacom qph-031 wont pickup 118.

the invacom has two outputs, two circular 11250 lof/h and two linear 10750 lof/h

118 is circular and uses a low band. the 11250 lof/h is to high, it needs a lower lof/h

the 10750 would be fine as a lof/h but the only port on an invacom qph-031 that uses that lof/h isnt circular, its linear.

so the ebay seller clearly doesnt understand basic satellite

gabshere,
It was a package deal with an INVACOM listed along with the specs. I think that it should of been cheaper since it is not the real thing. Another problem is that the dish included in the deal came damaged and the seller told me that a few dings and scratches should not interfere with reception. The shipping box had no damage on the outside but the loose items inside had a blast skating around on the dish during shipping!

 Sometimes it is hard to convince the wife to let me plant more dishes and BUDs in the yard. The "look neat" factor  really helps to put her at ease with my madness. Planting a dinged, scratched and a little bent dish just will not cut it! Imagine how soon the dings and scratches will rust!!!...

I am still learning alot about satellites every day! Interesting point about the 118 which was not even one of birds on my "want list". Apparently it is not on the "can get" list of this "monster" either!

yes i understand then best to do what you feel would work for you then. i would hate a dingged up dish and clone lnbf (for regular price)

The clone part of the deal bothers me most. It should be a cheaper item! I forgot about the dish damage over the holidays but the seller said it would be replaced but then again I have not heard from him. The clone has a 2 year warranty and I think the INVACOM has a 5 year?! If I could find some good about the clone (And a partial refund!) I might consider keeping it.

I've had the Invacom QPH installed for about three years, no problems at all. One thing to consider is the Monster clone is almost certainly a patent infringement. The manufacturers might disappear at any time, leaving you with no warranty.

Been an EBAY membey since '99, gotten a lot of good deals, and have been stung a couple of times. EBAY is way more interested in collecting fees from sellers than it is in protecting buyers. Caveat Emptor, I hope the lnb works for you.

If your product arrived broken, and is not what you ordered, return it, and give the seller accurate, negative feedback. That is about all you can do.

There are very few online places that will pay you to return something, so that is not really specific to this seller. I don't think QVC's return shipping is free either, even though they include a ready to go return label.

My first Invacom was from Sadoun, my second was from Hypermegasat. Neither were clones of course. :)
