Anyone able to self install???

I was sucessful in upgrading my 811 to a 622 this morning, but I was told I could not do a self install.

The CSR originally thought I only wanted a 211, so she said they would send me a 211 in a few days and I could swap the boxes and return the 811. But when I told her I wanted a 622. she said she would have to send out an installer.

Has anyone been able to have Dish just send them a 622 and do the install themselves?

Not going to happen for the 622 simply because of warranty issues. Same thing happened for those folks that wanted to do self installs of the dual tuner SD DVRs when they first came available to existing customers to lease. Only way you're going to be able to do a self install for the 622 is if you purchase one outright.

Duel tuners are harder to install then you might think. The best way to install them is to use DPP twin and I usually end up using diplexers for the second output. If you know what these things are and have them than may be you could do an install if not then let dish install the 622 for you.

There acutally easy.. but then again I was a lead tech for a year.. prior to leaving dish.. They went ahead and schedualed a truck roll for me.. but when the box gets here im going to install it myself and have them cancell the truck roll.. No point into just puting in a 622 and taking out the 942.. Its only 5 min worth of work, ok maybe 10 including activation
