I just sadly attempted to talk to E*s customer service to see when it would be possible for me to go to Turbo. That my friends was PAINFUL. Kinda like being forced to sit through a sex and the city episode in HD with a zoom in on Sarah Jessica Parkers face.
Anyways, I am a current customer with the full Americas200 and I want to switch to HD only. I wasn't able to get on it when Absolute was running because of the better half, but now I got the green light and I hear Charlie wants to bend us loyal customers over and show us whats what. Any ideas when Dish will allow those of us who have been with the company to actually get Turbo?

Anyone...

Based on nothing other than pure intuition and a good dose of what I've read here, the main reason Turbo is for new customers only is because of the MPEG4 requirement. A large number of existing HD customers have at least one MPEG2 receiver that would need to be replaced.

I don't buy that theory. They know who has what for equipment. If I have Mpeg4 equipment, I should be able to get Turbo, but they won't allow it. Money, my friend, is the reason they won't allow it. and by know they also know, the customers who have not left, will not leave and will continue to tolerate E's corporate abuse.
