I'm in Pickerington, I was wondering how many other people are around here, and was thinking about maybe setting up a support type group for this area.

Hi pokey

There are a lot of FTA users in Columbus (mostly Ethnic). When you drive around town you will see a lot of our Fortec dishes, and you will know it is a FTA user :D.

You can start a support group on Facebook.com or on our forums sadoun.net (as long as you fully comply with our forum rules ).

yeah I see Fortec dishes all over Columbus. I currently live in a place that's impossible to have any dishes or I would have a few up myself.

Most of the local users buy from us because of the savings on shipping and easy access to parts. The same thing with local installers.

Most use the 31" dish. Not many use the 36" or bigger dishes. I usually recommend the 36" if the customer is interested in a motorized system.

I really would like to get into the growing Hispanic market here in Columbus. But lack of Spanish language on my part is a hinderer.

you don't have a espanol rep there or is it because you don't speak spanish?

What markets there are big? (arabic, chinese, etc??)

Nope, I don't have a rep that speak Spanish and I don't speak Spanish myself. Spanish should be easy to learn but I will need to devote the time and maybe go to Mexico to get an intensive course of some sort. I heard they have a 2 weeks course that will get you started.

Columbus, being the capital of OHIO, is a very diverse city and we have all kind of nationalities. Our biggest FTA market over here is the Arabic and then Asian communities.

I am in the area and currently still looking into FTA. I just need to get off the pot and drive over to Sadoun and finally purchase a system.

Lancaster,Ohio here. Just put up a 8.5' BUD.:up

i'm jealous. I want a BUD soooooo bad right now, but all that i'm allowed in my subsidvision is my 30" ku dish. I would LOVE to get some C band sports feeds. My wife teaches in lancaster, and we are looking to move out that way in the next couple of years (as soon as the housing mkt rebounds and we can make a little on ours). As soon as we do, i'm buying a BUD.

As far as Sadoun goes, I love that place, i frequent it often. I have sent a few friends there as well. Since I moved to Columbus almost 2 years ago, it's the only place that I will go for satellite needs.

Very little or nothing on the Ku side for those from Mexico and Puerto Rico ( I only say this because I see little enthusiasm when I brag about receiving other Latin American channels ).

C-band is the way to go.
I bet you could sell alot of 6ft prime focus or larger for the 2 biggest Hispanic groups in Ohio and then they could park their dishes all day on Satmex or Intelsat 1R.

I live in Youngstown but I am going to see the Buckeyes play on sept. 27th, if I get a chance I'll stop by and say hi

Thats is where the market is, I agree. Channels from back home are what they want.
