I think I know the answer to this question, but have there been any newer C-band receivers manufactured with integrated HDTV and digital output, either DVI or HDMI?

My dad has a DSR922, and it looks like the only option for HDTV with C-band is with a HDD200, and component video.

If the HDD200 is the only HDTV alternative, is there an easy way to tell if it has the GUI support, besides having the "menu" in it?

Can the firmware be flashed by MOT or ATS, or is the GUI part of the second-gen hardware?

Thanks for the feedback!

I think the DSR 922 is the last c band receiver made as we knew them. I know that with a HDD200 you can do hi def. I think anything else being manufactured since the 4dtv that is Hi def is mpeg a FTA unit.

I don't think Motorola is ever going to make any changes to the DSR 922 anymore. They only manufacture them when there is a run on them like last year. You would have to contact Motorola or ATS and see if any flashing on the HDD200's can be done.

like I have typed many times before, anyone needing HDMI out from a 4DTV needs to invest into a video processor such as DVDO's VP30 or VP50, it takes many different inputs and processors it to a HDMI output. Not cheap, but is one of your best choices.
