I have a 2 hopper & 1 wireless joey setup

I thought that the joey would be able to view both of the hopper's dvr recordings........but it only sees the hopper that it is linked too. Is that the way the system is supposed to operate? If the hoppers can see each other's recordings.....seems like the joey should also

I don't know how the wireless setup works ,but on the wired joey setup the joey has to be linked to which hopper you want to view the recordings. So you go to settings, network setup and then whole home tile to link to whichever hopper you want to watch. With the hoppers you can hit dvr then the hopper tile your on ,select it and them it will show both hoppers . You select the hopper you want and your watching the shows from that hopper on your other hopper. Example: my hopper in the living room is the FAMILY ROOM . The one in the bedroom is MASTER BEDROOM. You select the FAMILY ROOM tile under the dvr button and it will have a draw down menu under it listing the MASTER BEDROOM hopper under it. You select it and your watching the bedroom hopper.

My WJ can see all four of my HWSs.

I haven't played with a WJ yet, but the wired joeys can see both hoppers recordings, without changing which one it is linked to. The same exact way the hopper sees the other hopper. I use this feature regularly.

so the process is different with the joey vs the hopper............
with the hopper, once I select dvr on the remote, I can then choose the other hopper to view the recordings............the joey does not give me this option

would bridging have anything to do with this?

On the joey, I tried following your steps, but it only gave me the option of the hopper that it was linked too

ok, I played around & enabled bridging.......even though my system is not connected to the internet..........now my joey gives me the option of selecting either hopper to watch the recordings

You said this was the WJ, so I'm guessing the signal of the MoCA has to be bridged for it to work, because although the not Internet connected, it is bridging the WAP. This is all just a guess. Again I have not had the chance to play with the WJ

With the bridging enabled on the hopper that is linked to the wireless joey, it seemed to screw up the names of everything..........I "undid" the bridging & got the names correct again, but now the wj does not give the option of the different hopper recordings

when I enabled bridging on the linked hopper, should I have selected wireless or moca before bridging?

Sounds like you problably have more than one IP connection your system. Bridging needs to be enabled to access the other dvr contents but bridging should not cause an issue, unless you have multiple IP connections.

So, does anyone know what the network setup settings should be for bnewt's two Hoppers and Wireless Joey since his Hoppers and WJ are not connected to the Internet? When his bridging is enabled it seemed to screw up the names of everything. What else needs to be done when there is no Internet connection so the WJ can see both Hoppers with out the names screwed up?

The hopper with the Joey WAP hooked to it should have bridging enabled.

So with no Internret connected, all Hoppers Network Setup settings should say MoCA (Yellow - Blue - 1 - Network Details)? And the Wireless Joey should say Wireless?

Then all I have to do is select the bridging button & let it complete it's process...........changing none of the default values

What was confusing was that the red box at the top allows you to choose MOCA or WIRELESS............I didn't know if I should change that or not..............I think it defaults to MOCA

I am real busy today and don't have the time right now to give you a bunch of things to try out. But for now, when you have a couple of hours sometime with nothing recording, experiment with different scnerioss to see if you can get things to working correctly. The first thing I would try out is unplug the A/C power to all your Hoppers, Wireless Joey, and the Wireless Access Point. Also, unplug the WAP's Ethernet cable from the Hopper. Plug one Hopper back in, after it has booted back up to live TV, go to the Network Setup menu (Yellow - Blue - 1 - Network Details). If the red drop down tab doesn't say MoCA, select the drop down arrow, select MoCA, and then Save. Plug in your other Hopper and after boot up to live TV, go into the Network Setup menu and this time select Bridging. Check both Hoppers and see if they can see each other in the DVR selection menu. If they both can see each other, get your WJ and WAP instructions out and follow the procedure to install them. Once the WJ is up and running check the DVR selection menu and see if you can see both Hoppers. I think Wireless self selects if you check the WJ's Network Setup settings. Got to go for now. Good luck to you.
