Another rebroadcast spat Dish V. Sinclair

Local independant station KFBT showed a crawl saying that they are in negotiations with Dish and that the current contract ends 5/31. To ensure uninterrupted service, call DirecTV or your local Cable company. KFBT is a sister station to KVWB in Las Vegas (both owned by Sinclair). Haven't seen the crawl there yet, but I'd bet it is there. On top of that, Dish does not carry our local UPN (KTUD), must be because it is low power. DirecTV does carry UPN. Should Dish lose KFBT, WB and UPN, it would seem a no brainer to switch. I hope the negotiator for Dish has this in mind.

Cable in my city had a hard time getting the digital feed from Sinclair for Fox. This is a link they had on the Fox's affiliate' website.

I think Sinclair is wanting to play hardball for their channels.

So is this to mean that Dish would drop any Sinclair-owned stations? Cripes, that's the ABC affiliate here in St. Louis. I haven't seen any crawls here, but... can they be far off?

I seem to remember reading that D* has an agreement with Sinclair that their stations will be among the first to be offered in HD over satellite.

Cox here in OKC hasn't carried the FOX affiliate in HD (a Sinclair station) since they started broadcasting in digital. Be prepared for a long battle.

Just saw the same scroll on KVWB. KVWB, a Sinclair station in Vegas has also not come to an agreement w/ Cox.

This is probably local to Las Vegas. A way for Sinclair to leverage carriage of the ndependent station on Dish. But if it becomes an all-out fight, many of us will be affected. Here is a list of the Sinclair owned or (*) controlled TV stations nationwide!
