Another Program Guide Question

Does anyone know if the Orby program guide works for OTA local channels if you don't have Orby service? I am referring to the plain Orby satellite receiver, NOT the DVR. If I buy a plain receiver and activate it for one or two months, will the program guide continue to work for the local OTA channels after the service ends or does the receiver stop working completely. The reason I ask this is because my tv has a lousy program guide and the Orby guide is much better. I thought of getting Orby for winter viewing and if the guide continues to work all summer that would be great.

Just checked, today is Sunday morning and I get through Thursday morning. This may depend on the local station's protocol.

Does it pre-load guide data for all the channels or does it wait until you pick a channel then load guide data?

Thank you for the information. The program guide on my TV only has the program currently on and then the next one that will come on.

Does anyone know how to keep the guide locked on the favorite list, it always goes back to all channels the next time you pull up the guide.
