I am getting a FTA system put in next week. Now i know about the free channels but what i want to know is can i subcribe to this channel with my system. I have been wanting to get this channel for a long time but it seems directv or dish will never carry it. Dennis

ALTV is free if you have a 4DTV authorized for at least one service. It is on (G16) X4-603. You won't be able to get it with a FTA receiver.
On Ku there's Blackbelt Tv X4-644. On C band there's quite a few. Couple that come to mind are, M2 movie mania, and The Nebraska PBS channels including one PBS HD channel. The fun starts in my book with the generic maps. If you know how to use them you can get some cool stuff ITC every so often. Kinda like when you see PowerVu ITC on C band with a FTA receiver. The only problem with the 4DTV is it doesn't do megapipe DCII, which I wish it did. Between the 4DTV channels and my Pansat it keeps me busy scanning the sky's.
I have scanned X4 a few times with my FTA receiver and never found anything I could receive. But only on 4DTV. I agree with you about American Life TV, I enjoy The Man From Uncle series on Wednesday at 9
M EDT. I wish they would get Sci-Fi straightened out on X4.
I was watching it yesterday on 642-X4, with my 920. And didn't have to get a re-hit, which I thought was odd? Although I did about a half dozen re-hits trying to get USA to work, and it finally appeared. I have an NPS subscription to the Absolute Digital package. Maybe you should take another look, and if you're still not getting it, go over to G1 and get an on-line re-hit. Good Luck!
