great forum :)

I have the SG2100 Motorized H to H Mount. 30" dish with a KU Band LNBF and a Fortec Star Lifetime Ultra Receiver. AMC-6 is my true south, but can't get anything on that.. I can get the SBC 6 .. can I set that as my true south ? and once I get a good signal on the SBC 6, in my Fortec Star Lifetime Ultra Receiver in the Latitude and longitude do I put my realy numbers (Latitude is 42.3 and longitude is 71.1) or do I change it to the SBC longitude of 74.0 W ? because that's what the 0 on the motor will be pointed!

thanks in advance ...

Do it the other way round, enter your Lat. and Long. then go to SBS6 in your antenna setup screen click on USALS the motor will move slightly. Then refind SBS6 again and you are done. Never move the motor elevation, to re-find SBS6 move the dish and motor as one (do not motor again for now), and you can also move the dish elevation a little to peak the signal.

Welcome to SatelliteGuys.US!

Thanks or the quick answer ...

I did that and I have about 65% on both do I need 2 go move the dish up and down 2 get the best signal .. u said don't move it left and right ?

thanks

Yes you now move the dish and motor as one (by hand)to get the best signal quality you can get, never move the motor elevation, the dish elevation can also be moved slightly to peak the signal.

Sorry for the delay getting back to you was out doing another KU install!

great I did that and I scand AMC6 and some how I got the ONN network on AMC 6, I know that channel is on SBC 6 ? when I scan the SBC 6 I get nothing !!

can my Lifetime Ultra Receiver confuse the two ?

Yes, the satellite names mean nothing so you can have it set for IA-5 and have your dish pointing at AMC-4 the receiver does not know where you pointed the dish.

You are only two degrees away, the dish and motor need to be moved 2 deg. to the east/left from behind dish.

I got AMC 6 and SBC 6 .. but I can't get TA5 or any other sat on the right or left of that ?

when I go the sat setting screen the 2 bars on the top show nothing ... but when I'm in the SBC 6 surrfing chanells I can click on the sig on the romte amd see that I have 82%

any idea what's going on ....

Thanks in advance ...

you have to aim the dish at true south (not true south bird). Once you aim it at true south, then you can motor to the satellites. At least thats the way I've understood it.

I'm not an expert on the motors...I had mine installed by PSB :)

You might want to do a search in this area for motor installations.

Try checking your pole mount. If its not absolutely level in all directions you can have probs getting one side of the arc or other

I checked everything .. and they all look right ... I'm starting to think it's the reciver? any idea where I can get the newest software to reflash my reciver ...I can't find the Fortec Star Lifetime Ultra website to download it ..

Thanks in advance
