I’m watching the Thursday Night Football game on Prime TV and their audio is messed up. I’m watching on my AppleTV 4K running the Prime TV App. My Denon reports it’s Dolby Digital but it’s like the front channels are missing. But, I guess the hidden blessing is I am spared the banter of the on-air personalities.

But, no interviews, just the ambient crowd noise, which is coming out the front speakers instead of the surrounds. It seems the audio channels are not properly assigned.

Can someone else verify, please?

Edit: I fired up the Prime Video app on my LG OLED and there’s Al Michaels & co. The Denon is reporting Dolby Digital for this, too.

I subscribe to Amazon Prime and I can verify that the play by play announcers are audible. I am only hearing it from my front center speaker. Maybe your front speaker connection is loose?

Since it worked on the LG native app, I went back to check the Audio settings on my AppleTV 4K. It was set to “Stereo” and not Dolby Atmos. I started the Prime Video app back up and now my sound is where it’s supposed to be.

Thanks for checking. It was weird that the commercials and other non-live content worked.

During the break I heard audio from all 3 front speakers. The play by play is still just the front center speaker on my setup.

As for my rear surround speakers, the builder of my house installed them in the ceiling. It sounds like I am sitting at the game with the audience above and behind me. Really enjoying 5.1 sound right now.

Wife is away so I have it cranked up quite loud!

Since I have upgraded my old Yamaha to the Denon, the Dolby Digital and Atmos processing has really enhanced watching NFL games. And much warmer and cheaper, too.
