Amazon Prime surpasses Netflix

I am sure most people have signed up just for the free 2nd day shipping.

"A study released by CIRP last April found that 70% of Amazon Prime members stream videos through the service."

I wonder how many of those ten million that took the free 30 day trial will really convert to paying. Is that 70% estimate reasonable? Is Netflix gaining or still losing subscribers?

I had no idea they were even close.

Do they stream on a regular basis, like Netflix subs, or do they just try streaming a few times out of curiosity? Not clear.
I don't think it's fair to compare Amazon to Netflix based on the number of subs alone. The number of views would be more appropriate.
Having said that, I do think Amazon is on the right track and bundling streaming with other Prime services makes business sense.
