When we had time warner, you could alternatively get the same service through earthlink and AOL. Does anyone know of anything similar with commcast? They are raising the rate and it isn't worth what it costs already....

What about FastAccess DSL; in your zip, or are you just wanting to stay with Comcast and looking for a 3rd party vendor?? FYI if you have not been patrolling the same threads as I do these days; but I transferred back to the big MEMPHO.

I live in robinsonville. No DSL is available as far as I know. Plus that wouldn't exactly be cheaper since I'd have to get bellsouth's phone service. Earthlink directs me to satellite internet by earthlink, but it costs $20 more and I wouldn't consider that anyway on the off chance that I might want to play games online in the future.

as in Robinsonville , MS?

Oh, I saw your profile said Memphis, TN

Yeah, I put memphis because I do a lot of work their when I actually go out in the field. Plus, nobody knows where robinsonville is. I suppose I could put Tunica Resorts or Grand Casino Tunica and it would probably be more accurate. I'm closer to the grand than the post office, anyway.

My bill was $44.95
They called the other day and said I had to make a choice:

Internet + Basic cable for $47.95
or
Internet for $49.95

Their website clearly states the price as $42.95 after the promo period is up, and it is the only price mentioned. I'm gonna call and complain after I get that bill. Bitchy customer time. I don't think commcast has deals with anybody.

OTOH, the internet down time has decreased since they came to town. Speed still sucks. The drawback of living downsteam from a large apartment complex.
