Hey guys,

Just wanted to let you know that I am seeing all of the games on the RSN's right now, nothing is being blackedout I'm watching the Wizards/Lakers game on both Comcast Sports Net and Fox Sports West, I'm seeing hokcey that is normally blackedout as well.

The interesting this is all the NBA LP channels are unlocked too...I am not sure if it something with my account or it does have to do with that free preview thing you were talking about. I have had the sports pack since I signed up with D* so it can't be because I am seeing this as a free preview. But I see I am not alone in seeing this games.

I noticed the same thing on Friday Night, i was able to watch the woeful Grizzlies beat the Lakers on FS West out of LA (i'm in the SF Bay Area). Is this normally the case that the pro games are not blacked out during the free sports package previews ? I subscribe to the sports pack , but the pro games are always blacked out (unless of course one subscribes to the sports package.) This is the first time since switching to D* from E* that I have seen this.

Sounds like the classic bait and switch to me. You get all these channels for 12 bucks or less, and you wait until you start paying for it to find that all the games are blocked out.

What a ridiculous laugh; BAIT AND SWITCH? You must be kidding; blackouts are one of the most talked about sports items here and specifically mentioned items in the terms of service. If you go in thinking you are gonna get something that you are not from the sports pack; then, well, pull your head out of where ever it might be....

Now, if you are watching a open or free preview then whats the beef; enjoy now, but again, don't think you are going to continue getting it after that open period; but stop crying cheated, lied to or bait & switch.

I agree it is not right though. For someone not in the know they would assume that the free preview would indicate what you would get if you purchased the sports pack...much like any movie preview special. Don't get me wrong...I don't mind getting pro sports for free for a few days, but don't advertise it like it's included with the sports pack and then stick me with the bill when that is not the case.

I know better because I do my research, but for the average Joe who doesn't it is a slap in the face.

D* has what 16 million customers, this forum has 110,000 members... If this isn't a bait and switch, what is? Saying that people should know because it is in the terms and conditions doesn't make it any less than a bait and switch. I am not complaining, I know better, but the whole idea of a preview is to preview the service. It is like test driving a car that has had the engine swapped out with a Porsche and wondering why your chevy doesn't run like that car you drove (yes, you are stupid for thinking it would, but it is still a bait and switch).

I didn't bite, but you know a few of those 16 million people did.

SO..... you want them to turn on the channels you would normally get in the Sports Pack for the Free Preview ????

They are already on, you get your local team in every package from Total Choice and up.

Anyone that decides over a weekend that he wants the SP and does not ask ANY QUESTIONS when signing up or does any inquireing like looking on D*'s forum for SP info is just lame on thier part for not doing thioer homework.
fwiw, the SP is a month to month thing, not a year long subscription, they can easily turn it off the next day or month.

btw, I had a friend do the same thing , ordered and then wondered why he was not getting what he wanted, except the problem was I TOLD him what he would and would not get and he still tried it, that said, He was on DISH Network turning on the SP, but it works the same, still he could not understand that he was not getting the same channels I was with my D* set up.

He has since canceled DISH.

I was still able to watch games unrestricted this evening.
I was too. The YES was showing the yankees and whatever channel the mets were on was showing that too. NESN was blacked out though. Considering I live in Mississippi it was odd to me.

That is what I was trying to clarify, it was an error, I do not believe they were trying to mislead people.

They want customers to be happy and WANT the package long term, not one month.

If anyone added it for the reason of the errors and doesn't want it, my guess is that they would waive the disconnect fee for less than 30 days. Again, just my guess.

I agree 100%. I believe that the free preview should NOT have included pro sports on the various RSN's, as it is during non free preview periods if you will. I have the sports pack, but am thinking for $120.00 a year, that would pay 2/3 of the NBA season pass or about half of the MLB extra innings, that's mainly what I want to see on the RSN's is the pro games, I could care less about seeing "The Best Damn Sports Show" at 8 differen times each weeknight on various RSN's like now. I'm probably going to dump the package, don't get me wrong I knew going in the pro games are blacked out, but decided to see if it is worth subscribing too anyway, my answer is NO.

Not only that...DISH has their sports pack for 5.99, which is more worth it than DTV's 12.00 tag.

Also, you can turn it off the next day, but will get an early termination fee of like 10 bucks. Once a premium is turned on you have to wait 30 days before you can turn it off without a fee.

If you could comare the two, D* gives you alot more content than E* does on the sports package. Not all of the channels are game only
