Alexa DISH Skill not working with Joey 3?

I recently upgraded one of my Joey 2's to a Joey 3 only to find out that it's not working with the Alexa DISH Skill. I've redone the process of getting the code from the Alexa App on the Hopper 3 receiver, etc. (multiple times), to no avail. The DISH Skill is working OK with the bedroom Joey 2, and is working fine with the Hopper 3 as well.

But what's worse is when I ask the Amazon Echo device that controls the Joey 3 to change the channel the first time after setting it all up, Alexa says that she is having trouble connecting with DISH, and that I will need to re-enable the DISH Skill, and immediately the DISH Skill is disabled and I have re-enable it all over again (get the code etc.) just to get the Skill to work again with the Joey 2 and Hopper3. I've done all the usual things, re-booted all the DISH devices and the Amazon devices, checked the network settings, etc., all to no avail.

Doesn't the DISH Skill work with the Joey 3?

If you see the reviews of the Dish Alexa app, you see it is not well liked. I cannot get a Joey 2 nor a 2nd Hopper 3 to work with Alexa. I have spent hours with Amazon and Dish CSRs ending with no luck and them writing work requests to the IT depts. from who I have never heard from again.

You need to make sure the alexa app device name and Joey name are the same. It has likely changed with the new one.

You were partially correct, and your reply led me to the correct solution. In the Alexa App the original name of the Joey's location was there, but it was entered twice. I assume one was for the original Joey 2, and the other for the new Joey 3. I'm thinking the Echo unit was probably still linked to the original location name for the Joey 2, and because the location name had been duplicated, and not knowing which entry would be the correct one, I just deleted both entries and did a new device search and then linked the DISH Skill to newly discovered location name for the Joey 3 and all is well in the world.

Thank you KAB for leading me to the correct solution!

I use my Alexa to listen to music, that is all it is good for! I keep her mic turned off otherwise.

I strongly disagree that Alexa can only be used for streaming. Alexa controls the lights in my house, allows hands free control of my Hopper3 and TV, keeps track of my schedule and gives me reminders, streams music, gives me a nightly flash briefing, orders groceries from Amazon, and even keeps track of my Fitbit data and my AcuRite weather station. I have created routines that control my lights such as “night light” for getting up in the middle of the night and “movie Light” for watching tv at night.

To all of the above: X2!

All of a sudden the D¡SH skill doesn't work at all. But it has always had a low rating. It worked great when I first started using it and now all I can get from "she who shall not be mentioned" is that it needs to be set up. It is. She gets confused, A LOT!
