AL CENTRAL

What did you guy's think about the foul pop behind the screen.
The fan touched it, (it fell in his hand), then popped up, hit the screen and then into Mauers glove and the ump called the batter OUT :eek::eek:

Not sure what the Ump saw, but it clearly hit the guys hand popped up and hit that screen before the catch was made by the Minnesota player.

I always thought that if a fan touched the ball or the ball touched the screen it was out of play and dead ball, clearly something has changed or the UMP BLEW THE CALL?

Or is it up to the UMP to determine whether the player would have caught the ball had the fan not been there ..... (Rules change), but that would be very hard to determine.

The Season on the Brink for the Twins

Game 3's Twinkie starter of the 4 game series will be none other than my goombah himself..... CARL PAVANO! (aka C-Pav). YES!!!!!

This is a must win for the Twins. Why would they stick their seasons hopes on Pavano you ask? Because he's been an absolute Tiger killer this year, that's why! This season, C-Pav is 4-0 against the kittens with a 1.69 ERA. If he can pitch another gem and get the game in the hands of another Tigers killer, Joe Nathan (23-0 in save opportunities against the Tigers), this series will get a whole lot more interesting heading into Game 4.....

Earlier, I was talking to KCK about how losing or winning a game here or there in the dog days of summer can help or hurt a team.

In the case of the Twins, should they fall short of the division, I think the game that will come back to haunt them was when they lost that big lead in Oakland in a game that ended on a controversial play at the plate.

The Tiger's , IF they could have played anywhere CONSISTANT ball in the last month or two would be a good 10 games up on everyone in thier division.
There has been soooooo many games that theyshould have won and gave away.

Verlander should have another 5 wins at least, if it wern't for lack of offense.

eh..Joe Nathan blowing the game with 2 outs in the 9th against the chisox a few days before Labor Day will haunt

up by 2 with 2 outs...0-2 on batter and gets him to 3-2 then gives up gopher ball
next guy comes up...gets to 3-2 and gives up gopher ball to tie it

Twins lose in 10th

A win this afternoon and you live to play another day and the season is still alive.

Tigers have the always troublesome Wh. Sox while the Twins play the Royals ....

This afternoons game is HUGE.

IF the Tigers have to end up winning 2 out of three against the Wh. Sox, I don't like the chances, particularly without JV or Porcello going ....
Not sure when JV's next game would be, maybe it would be during the series, but I'm not sure.

I bought tickets to todays game, getting ready to head down to Detroit.

Really hope they clinch this quick and have some time to set the pitching before taking on the Yankees.
