I am getting ready to replace my dish 1000 with a 1000.2 and I am selling my 1000 to my neighbor.

Currently I have 3 cables running from my 1000 to a dual DP44 setup and a single cable coming from a wing Dish at 61.5 to the DP44's.

As far as aiming the new Dish, any help, the installer had quite a time getting it lined up. Do I cover the 110 and 129 and peak off 119 and then set the Skew ? I am at 65109, what is the skew setting on this one ?

Also, can I take my wing Dish cable and hook it to the lnb in on the 1000.2 instead of having it run all the way to the DP44, it's another 75 foot beyonf the 1000 ? Will the DP44's still be happy ?

The neighbor has a super Dish I will be replacing. Any tips on pointing it ?

Thanks in advance for the help !

I found the installation guide for the 1000.2 and it looks like I still need a seperate cable to the DP44 from my wing Dish.

My first question would be what configuration your are using with your new 1000.2? If you have 3 or less receivers, your DPP44 w/ power inserter is no longer needed. You simply run a cable from the wing dish into the "LNB in" port on the 1000.2 integrated LNB. I am familiar w/ your area, you don't need a 1000.2 since you have a wing dish pointed at 61.5. A dish 500 with 2 DP Duals and a DP dual on your wing dish into your DPP44 will bring in all the programming you require. That is the setup I would recommend. The 61.5 bird will give you better overall signal strength for your HD programming.

As far as pointing a Dish 1000 of any kind, I always point the dish w/ 119, and peak for optimal signal on 129. On a Dish 1000.2, first port will be 119, second 110, third 129, fourth LNB in.

I put foil over the other two lnbs to make user I get 119 to peak on. The ports are just like Steve said but the lnbs are in a different order. From right to left they are 129, 119,110, so I foil all of them except the middle one. Then plug the coax with the meter into first port and peak it on 119. Once you are peaked on 119 then you should be fine for 129 and 110 .

For you skew for 65109 it should be set to 119 and your elevation should be set to 37. Your azmuith should be 216.

Thanks for the information, I have 7 receivers running off dual DP44's, and I get locals off spot beam off 129, so I would rather stick with the 1000 and use a wing dish for 61.5.

Your cable configuration will not change. The 1000.2 is the same as the 1000 but bigger (better reception). The LNBs are different too but in your configuration, it doesn't make a difference. 3 cables from the 1000.2 to the DPP44 and one more for 61.5 to the DPP44.

I don't think there are any locals on spot beam on 129 are there? There are HD locals on 129, but I don't think they are on spot.

Yes, ummmmmmm, I sorta live in Oak Grove, so I get the KC HD locals !!!! Maybe I don't get them on spot, but I get them off 129

Question about FSN HD channels?
