As anyone who has access to the latest BCE Quarterly Report knows, BCE as it goes private will be rebranding services. The Expressvu name and the beavers are being retired, along with the "Sympatico" internet name. Expressvu will become part of "BellTV".
As part of the changes to stem customer losses in the landline and hispeed business, all new infrastructure expenditures will be in the highest population density areas of Toronto, Montreal & Ottawa.
Plans have been shelved for any additional Expressvu satellite expenditures assuming pending FCC and Industry Canada approval for Charlie to use all 32 transponders on Nimiq 5.
Bell will focus on increasing the size of the pipeline to core customers to be able to compete eventually for the home phone/internet/tv/VOD/cell phone bundles vs their cable competitors.
SES has announced that they will not be replacing the ill fated AMC14 now that Charlie has cut this deal with Telesat & BCE for N5 usage. Expect Dish to apply for use of Ciel2 when it is launched to 129 next year.
