OK guys,
I want to make sure I covered the options (or the reasonable ones)

My friend called the other day and now has the Internet at the Cottage ...
So, now she wants to add the Internet to the HR24 .... the obvious one is run ethernet from router to back of HR24 .... unfortunately her husband had the router placed in the spare bedroom instead of behind the TV ... no one asked about it so he didn't know.

Ok, so running the ethernet cable to router is out.

I had her call D* and see if they would send her a Wireless Internet Kit, they said, sure we will, no problem ...
She gets it and when she gets to the lake next, they hook it up ... she sends me pictures and says, Not working ... What I see is that small football type set up with the green sticker (think its a sticker) anyway, I believe its a Deca device (I generally don't deal with this side of the game other than the wireless with the Genies) ...
this device basically goes before the recvr in and out and back into the recvr, with an ethernet connection on it as well ... I'm presuming that connection is to go to the router ... which we can't get to because its in the other room ... so .... from what I can tell, they sent her the Non Wireless version ... is that correct ?

Do I have her call D* again and try to get the WIRELESS version or are there other options ?

Sounds like they sent a wired deca which is built in to the hr24 and not the wireless, they need a wireless for that to work unless there is a cable tied to the system by the router and that would be where what they sent would go.

Sent from my Note 8 using the SatelliteGuys app!
