Actuator used for smaller dish

Anyone try using an actuator from a BUD to motorize a smaller dish? That would be a Mcgyver undertaking. I'm thinking about it, but will need lots from my basement junk drawer and was wondering if I shouldn't just shell out the money for a motor. Thanks

I used one in the UK! It was from a 1.7m dish and I converted it to a smaller 1m BSKYB mesh dish. It was easy enough done. I turned the dish to the "0" true south position removed the BUD and clamped on the small dish re-found the satellite and I was done.

Let us know if you go ahead and try it. Sounds like a fun project!
