Yep, everyone should grow-up with a powerlifting English professor for a dad...standing over us with a weight-lifting belt in the right hand, and a copy of ye olde Oxford English Dictionary in the left. Okay, we were rarely beaten (and certainly far less than we deserved), but you had better not dangle a participle at the diner table.

Of course, that's one reason I don't engage my daughters in text messaging. I cannot understand any of it.
