My Asus laptop keyboard went kaput. More accurately certain keys stopped working with the Enter key being one of them. I am fine with a USB keyboard but that does sort of reduce the advantage of having a laptop. Am I dead? I can always backup (using the other keyboard) and then get a new one but I was wondering if any of our resident wizards had an idea that might help.

Keyboards can generally be replaced for not too much money and a nodding familiarity with taking laptops apart.

Without knowing what you're dealing with in terms of viability of the rest of the computer in the modern world along with your preference for operating systems, I wouldn't dare make a recommendation about what to do.

I finally replace the keyboard. Some told me it was overkill but no could identify a less drastic solution. So I did it.
